Graiden vs Seedly: Tracking Spending After the Seedly App Shut Down

Last updated: 2026-10-31

Seedly discontinued its app, including the expense tracker many Singaporeans used, on 31 December 2025. In its announcement Seedly said expense-tracking data would be permanently deleted after 31 March 2026, while profiles, posts, replies, reviews and rewards stay on the seedly.sg website. Seedly itself carries on as a personal finance community and content site, part of MoneyHero Group. If you used the Seedly app to track spending, you now need a separate tracker. Graiden is one option: it logs your spending from the bank-alert emails and e-receipts you forward, without linking a bank.

What Happened to the Seedly App

Seedly announced that it would discontinue the Seedly app ("the app, not us!") on 31 December 2025, to focus on new tools across MoneyHero Group. The announcement says expense-tracking data would be permanently and securely deleted from Seedly's servers after 31 March 2026, so that data is no longer recoverable from Seedly. Your Seedly profile, with your comments, posts, replies, reviews and rewards, remains on the website.

What Seedly Still Does Well

Seedly is still a Singapore personal finance community, with reviews and discussions on credit cards, insurance, savings accounts and investments. For researching which financial product to pick, it remains useful and free. It just no longer tracks your spending.

Where Graiden Fits

Graiden only does expense tracking. You turn on your bank's transaction alerts by email, forward them (and your e-receipts) to your Graiden address once, and each purchase is logged and categorized. It supports alerts from DBS/POSB, PayLah!, UOB, OCBC, Standard Chartered, Citi and Trust and never asks for your bank login. Every account gets 7 days of automatic logging free, with no card needed; after that, automatic tracking is Pro at US$24.99 a year or US$2.99 a month. If you'd rather sync your bank, Dobin and Spendee are options; we compare both with Graiden separately.

Graiden at a Glance

Graiden

Expense tracker that reads your bank-alert emails and e-receipts, with no bank login

Strengths

  • On Pro (and free for the first 7 days), no typing: forwarded bank alerts and e-receipts are logged and categorized for you (unlimited)
  • No bank login or account linking, on any plan
  • Reads Singapore bank alerts from DBS/POSB, PayLah!, UOB, OCBC, Standard Chartered, Citi and Trust
  • Works with any email provider and any purchase receipt

Limitations

  • Free plan reads forwarded emails automatically for only the first 7 days; after that it's manual entry unless you pay for Pro
  • No bank sync: it only sees purchases that send an alert email or e-receipt, so cash needs manual entry
  • Web and Android apps only; no iPhone app on the App Store (on iPhone you use the web app)
Price: Free tier; Pro US$24.99/year or US$2.99/monthVisit Graiden →

The Verdict

Seedly is no longer an expense tracker: its app closed on 31 December 2025. Keep using seedly.sg for community advice and product reviews, and pick a separate tracker. Choose Graiden if you want automatic tracking without linking your bank; choose a bank-sync app like Dobin if you're comfortable sharing your bank login.
