Track PayLah! spending automatically

DBS PayLah! emails you an alert every time you spend. Forward those alerts to your private Graiden address once, and every purchase is logged and categorised on its own, including card taps at the hawker centre that online receipts never catch.

What gets tracked

  • PayLah! scan-and-pay at hawkers and shops
  • PayLah! transfers to friends
  • Wallet top-ups

Watch the setup

This is the whole thing in Gmail, start to finish. Guided setup in the Graiden app walks you through it with direct links and makes the PayLah! filter for you.

Rather do it here? The three steps are below.

Set it up in three steps

  1. Step 1

Make sure alerts go to email

In the PayLah! app or internet banking, open your alert or notification settings and turn on email alerts for transactions. Set the alert threshold as low as it goes so small purchases are caught too.

  2. Step 2

Add your Graiden address in Gmail

Your address is in the Graiden app under Settings. In Gmail on a computer, go to Settings → Forwarding and POP/IMAP → Add a forwarding address. Graiden catches Gmail's confirmation email and approves it for you. Full Gmail walkthrough

  3. Step 3

Import the filter for PayLah! alerts

Download your filter file below. In Gmail, go to Settings → Filters and Blocked Addresses → Import filters, choose the file, then Create filters. Leave “Apply to existing emails” unticked.

In the Graiden app under Settings. It ends in @graiden.xyz.

    Forward alerts from

Paste your Graiden address to get your file.

Prefer to make the filter yourself? Search Gmail for this, then choose Create filter:

    from:paylah.alert@dbs.com

Gmail only lets you import filters on a computer, or in your phone's browser with Desktop site turned on.

Common questions

Do I need to give Graiden my PayLah! login?
No. Graiden only reads the alert emails you choose to forward. It never connects to DBS PayLah! and can't move money.
Which PayLah! transactions will be tracked?
Anything PayLah! sends an email alert for: paylah! scan-and-pay at hawkers and shops; paylah! transfers to friends; wallet top-ups. Transactions without an email alert won't appear, so set your alert threshold as low as your bank allows.
What about overseas spending?
Graiden reads the currency on the alert. If the alert also shows the amount charged in SGD, that's what gets logged; otherwise it converts at the day's rate and keeps the original amount in the note.
Will forwarding everything use up my free receipts?
Only transaction emails count. The filter only matches your bank's alert address, so newsletters and promotions aren't forwarded in the first place.
